The design-build team has been working diligently to replace fill along the embankment wall that was washed away during the storm, and is now proceeding with pile driving.

As many of you are aware, Osceola Road between SR 46 and Mullet Lake Park Road was closed due to flooding caused by Tropical Storm Fay at the end of August and remained closed until recently. Figure B below shows a detailed map of the road closure location and its proximity to the Lake Jesup Bridge construction site.

Because this roadway is part of this project’s construction area, the Florida Department of Transportation and the construction team were able to coordinate quickly to reconstruct collapsed areas of the roadway. As a result, Osceola Road has now been re-opened.
