July 2009 Project Update

The final items are being completed for the new bridge, and it will be open to the traveling public beginning the weekend of July 31st (barring any weather constraints or unanticipated issues). Construction will still continue to complete the final asphalt work on the east approach with Osceola Road and the west approach with Old Geneva Road/Boat Ramp. Travelers accessing Osceola Road and Old Geneva Road/Boat Ramp can expect to use detour routes. (See the Public Information Tab for detour maps).

Construction and demolition adjacent to the new bridge and water will continue. For safety reasons, there will be short periods of time when the channel will be closed to marine traffic. The channel will remain open on the weekends.

The pictures below show recent aerial views of the new bridge.
