May 2009 Project Update
Construction on the new bridge continues to move forward. The construction of pile foundation supports and setting of support beams for the bridge is now complete.
As these efforts continue, increased construction adjacent to the existing bridge and in the waterway can be expected. For safety reasons, there will be short time periods when the channel will be closed to marine traffic. The channel continues to remain open during weekends.
The picture below shows the setting of the last of the support beams for the bridge.
